Duke of Edinburgh Gold Residential April 2012 £260 per person
This Residential is a wonderful opportunity to learn to sail and kayak in the second largest harbour in the world, also probably the shallowest. At the end of your weeks stay with us you will have gained two National Governing Body Awards one in sailing the RYA Level 1(normal cost for this course on its own £125) and two the BCU 1 star kayaking award (normal cost for this course on its own £80) We supply all wetsuits, wind proofs and buoyancy aids.
This unique South Shore Lodge (left) is a throw back to a bygone age here on Brownsea, We are very fortunate to have secured it for our first Gold Residential for the 2012 season starting on the 2nd of April.
Brownsea Island is dramatically located at the entrance to Poole Harbour in Dorset. Walks cut through mixed and pine woodland at the centre of the island, offering an excellent opportunity to see red squirrels (which are almost extinct in southern England) and red squirrel conservation in action. In winter the area is visited by huge flocks of birds including little egrets and avocets.
This is a wonderful opportunity to meet like-minded people in one of the most scenic locations in the country and have the experience of a life time sailing and kayaking in the waters of Poole Harbour you might even get a chance to meet our resident seal normally found lurking of off Green island.
