Waterbased

Variety

You can choose from dinghy sailing, power boating, windsurfing and kayaking with both short sessions and longer courses suitable for all levels and abilities whether: you are a first timer; or you wish to enhance your skills/qualifications; build up your team; you simply want a fun experience whilst on a weekend break or longer holiday. Our centre offers a range of equipment to accommodate beginners as well as those who already have experience.

Excitement

Our location in the middle of beautiful Poole Harbour means you can experience a variety of water conditions. The location, sheltered from prevailing South Westerly winds offers ideal conditions for beginners, and experienced sailors can enjoy more testing conditions beyond the shelter of the harbour Many visitors are often lucky enough also glimpse one of the harbours resident grey seals enjoying their natural habitat.

Safety

The centre is registered with the RYA and AALA and you are assured that their strict safety standards are met. All sessions and courses are led by qualified instructors with safety cover provided by qualified individuals for all water based sessions.

Inclusive

The centre is committed to the concept of access for all and welcomes enquiries from visitors, residents, children aged 8 and up and people with disability. All levels of experience are provided for.

The Centre

Harbour Challenge OEC operates from its centre on Brownsea Island overlooking the beach.
The centre has changing facilities and provides a range of wetsuits, buoyancy aids and windproof tops. All you need to bring is a towel, T-shirt, water appropriate footwear, and, of course, yourself.
